Electronics&nbsp;~ Artistic sensitivity meets technology NL &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; In samenwerking met Sunjoo Lee is Ko de Beer bezig met het kunst en techniek project Machine in Flux: Wood, hier werkten wij aan tijdens een Artist in Residence programma bij MADlab. Dit project is een installatie van een machine, een soort robot, die een performance uitvoert, waarbij een tekening ontstaat. De bewegingen van de robot zijn traag en delicaat en het resultaat van het optreden is een tekening die lijkt op de jaarringen van een boomstam. Het doel van dit project is om een nieuwe verbinding te onderzoeken tussen onszelf als mens, technologie en de natuur. We proberen de belangrijkste&nbsp;drijvende kracht achter machine ontwikkeling, namelijk bruikbaarheid en&nbsp;productiviteit, ter discussie te stellen. We warmen het lichaam, de stem en de hersenen op. We komen in de stemming voor theater. Hierna heeft Ko een kleine en een meer uitdagende oefeningen waarbij een personage solo, duo of in groepsverband wordt gespeeld. Hierna hebben we een kleine theepauze en dan gaan we naar de hoofdopdracht, die meestal deel uitmaakt van een duo in een uniek verhaal, met decor en kostuums. We warm up the body, the voice, and the brain. We get into the mood for theatre. After this, Ko has one small excercise and one challenging excercise which involve playing a character in solo, duo or a group setting. After this we have a small tea break, and then we go to the main assignment, which is usually in a duo within a unique story, with decor and costumes. Hier zet hij zijn interesses voor techniek, muziek en hout in voor de (jong)volwassen deelnemers. Here he uses his interests for technology, music and wood for (young)adult participants in the workshop. Werk &amp; Uitleg has a woodworkshop, and a big space for theatre and yoga. Hij is het meest bezig met experimentele elektronische muziek en zoekt graag de grenzen op van wat mogelijk is met zijn instrumenten.Hij al vele jaren ervaring en inspiratie opgedaan in de lokale elektronische muziek scene van Eindhoven. Denk hierbij aan Geluidsdrug, S.i.n.c en Modulab.Geluidsdrug en S.i.n.c zijn beiden platforms die gespecialiseerd zijn in jammen tussen muzikanten. Ko staat er altijd voor open om nieuwe muzikanten te ontmoeten en mee samen te werken. Solo staat Ko het meest bekend om zijn optredens met zijn zelfgemaakte elektronische muziek instrumenten. Ook treed hij op als dj onder de naam de:Beer. Waarbij hij vooral duistere industrial techno draait.&nbsp; Als duo vormt hij samen met Arjan Maassen de band Metall Bunker Industriël. Hiermee treden ze op met hun alter ego’s Bibo (Arjan) en Koki (Ko). Beiden hebben een achtergrond in Acid, Noise en Industrial. Zijn focus ligt op sociale interactie: werkelijk contact met de mensen waarmee hij werkt. Dat kunnen mensen zijn die hij een cursus geeft, begeleidt of hij voor optreedt. Hij hecht veel waarde aan het welzijn van zijn medemens. Hij ziet zijn werk ook als een tool om tot maatschappelijke verbetering te komen.&nbsp; Persoonlijke kenmerken van Ko zijn: openminded, inspirerend, empathisch en veelzijdig. They can be the people that he designs a course for, coaches or performs for. He attaches great value to the welfare of those that he engages with.
